Brie is a primary health care provider who is passionate about helping people like you to reach their ultimate state of well being.
For the first 10 years of her life, Brie grew up with severe chronic childhood asthma, and, through her teens and twenties, dealt with various reproductive issues, insomnia and panic attacks all triggered by a life time of sub-optimal nutrition, years of built-up environmental toxicity, poor stress management, and worsened by an onslaught of allopathic medicines. Fueled by her own journey toward greater health, her passion for herbal medicine began over 12 years ago at the American School of Herbalism, and continued to grow and thrive (along with her own recovered personal wellness!) at the California School of Herbal Studies in Northern California, where she received her certification in Clinical Western Herbal Medicine. Brie completed her 4-year Masters of Science Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Five Branches Institute for TCM, where she took specialized courses of study in Gynecology, Integrative Medicine, and Hepatitis C, and completed an externship in a local group home for people living with Schizophrenia and other mental imbalances.
While working towards her masters degree, Brie also completed 4 years of apprenticeship in Advanced Acupuncture with Holly Guzman, OMD, who specializes in Fertility & Women’s Health, Internal Medicine, and Immunology, and with world-famous Herbalist and Acupuncturist Michael Tierra. Her post graduate work has focused on deepening her knowledge of Fertility and Women’s Gynecological Health, and becoming a Certified Hepatitis C practitioner by training with Dr. Misha Ruth Cohen in San Francisco.
Besides maintaining a private practice in Santa Cruz, Brie has been an Herbal Consultant for Kan Herb Company, a guest teacher at the annual Northern California Women’s Herbal Symposium, and has published articles on community wellness in Bay Area publications.
