Gardasil is the brand name for a vaccine that is being touted as the “Cervical Cancer Vaccine”. The vaccine prevents infection from 4 strains of HPV, a sexually transmitted disease that if left untreated can potentially lead to cervical cancer. As of this February, after just 2 cases of reported Gardasil related hospitalizations, Spain’s government recalled and withdrew over 76,000 doses of the drug immediately for further research.
